1413 CHANGES COLOUR

One of Dewsbury's buses - 1413 (YJ57 BVX) has been decorated with an all-over advert for CRIMESTOPPERS. This has been done with vinyls, and fleet numbers have not yet been added.

   NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

  Since the departure of Managing Director Phil Stone to Arriva North West and Wales last

  July, the post has been vacant. Arriva have announced the appointment from 19th May

  of NIGEL FEATHAM, who is currently Managing Director of Warrington Borough Transport.

NEW BUSES

THE NEW BUSES for Belle Isle are trickling into the fleet. They are VOLVO B9TL models with DARWEN OLYMPUS bodywork and are numbered 1800-1815.  They will be used on service 110 (Leeds - Wakefield) and will replace 700-717, which are being "cascaded" to Heckmondwike, to replace the ex-London Country Dennis Arrows 501-510, which are being withdrawn.

715, 716 and 717 have already moved to Heckmondwike, where only four Arrows (502, 505, 506 & 508) remain in service. The Dennis Lances (801-830) are being withdrawn to be replaced by Volvo single-deckers with Wright bodywork. It is hoped to have most of these out of the fleet by July.
